The International Center

The International Center creates and disseminates innovative educational ideas and products that enable students around the world to:
  • engage in cross-cultural collaborative learning;
  • place learning of all major disciplines in global contexts;
  • attain technological literacy in order to succeed in the global economy of the 21st Century;
  • affirm commonalities, explore possible solutions to inequalities around the world;
  • and, become responsive global citizens.
The Center has either worked or is working now working with UNESCO, the UNDP and educational, environmental, psychological and development institutions from more than 20 countries. Associates of the International Center include pioneering teachers, educational researchers, technologists, and curriculum developers from around the world. The center is headed by Dr. Boris Berenfeld, biophysicist and educator, who has spearheaded a number of educational and technological innovations in Europe, Russia, Middle East, Latin America and within the U.S.

We support and develop:
Global Networked Courses. The Center experiments with emerging communication technologies to disseminate global collaborative courses on-line.

International Authoring Teams. The Center facilitates the work of international authoring and reviewing teams to assure the educational quality and cultural adaptability of developed materials.

Collaborative Learning Strategies. The Center is developing a new generation of instructional materials that employ state-of-the-art information technologies to implement collaborative learning in the center of classroom instructions.
